Jr. High Aspire:

First Week
9/17/09
We had a very good time yesterday! Highlights include a fast-paced name game, the dictionary race (and learning what 'Aspire' means), and celebrating Miss Lorie's birthday with the adults. I only got through about half of the activities and lesson discussions that I had... That's why there's next week! I'm very excited about what God is doing and will do this year. Please pray that our Jr. High will

Are you ready?

Mission Statement

One of the definitions of "Aspire" is to seek after something, to long for something of high value. We want to create an environment of grace and care that encourages our Jr. High to aspire after the life of Christ. As they grow and experience the turmoil of adolescence, we want to make sure they have a place they can go and feel loved and accepted, but also encouraged to put their trust in God for everything.

There are 2 goals we have for Aspire:

1. To nurture their faith in grace
Nurturing takes place in the cell group through relationships with the cell leader/helpers and in the lessons. The lessons we use are designed to help these teens learn about God and how His word teaches us how to live in His grace.

2. To connect them to the church body
Connecting takes place also in the cell as the teens pray for the young adults in our college and career group, but extends outside of the group as we seek to encourage those who are sick or struggling as well as get involved in the life of the church.
