Teen Cell Groups

Teen ministry is the most exciting ministry in the church! Statistics show that 70% of all people come to faith in Christ before their 18th birthday. Traditional teen ministry has revolved around recreation activities. While it is true that teens need wholesome social outlets, no amount of recreation can meet the root needs of the heart.

At Grace Christian we believe that the most pressing need of today's teens is RELATIONSHIP. Our high tech, fast-paced culture of video games and the internet has left today's teen starved for relationships with each other, with significant adults, and with Jesus Christ.

A second pressing need for today's teen is RELEVANCE. If it doesn't work, they will not use it. The church has traditionally provided instruction that is either biblically weak, or discounted from the real world and thus not relevant. Grace Christian has found that the answer to the need for relationship and relevance is best met through cell ministry.

Our teen cells follow the same four-fold focus as our Adult Cell groups, with an even greater emphasis placed on building relationships and helping each teen feel loved and accepted. A Bible based lesson that connects to real life is studied together, followed by a time of extended food and fun.

Teen cells meet twice a month in different homes on Friday evenings, from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm (actually many hang out and enjoy the group until 10:00 pm or later, what a problem to have). Usually the same host home is the meeting place for a given month.

Two small group curriculums are applied to develop a seven year training cycle (6th - 12th grade). The core curriculum for Bible study is Quick Studies, and the core curriculum for doctrine and life issues is Great Groups, both by David C. Cook. This material is:

• Comprehensive. A small group, interactive lesson with application for every chapter of the Bible.
• Real Bible study. Each meeting the teens will come face to face with the Word of God and its application to real life. They will draw answers and directions for life from the Word itself.
• Creative, practical and involves teens in the learning process.
• IT'S FUN!!!

 

 

Presently we have two teen cells. One is designed for Jr. High School girls and the other for Senior High School students, both male and female. If your child is interested in attending the next teen cell please contact Pastor Jeff
